Joanne Hynes is fashion designer, business woman and mother who approaches projects with a unique vision. On September 2016, Joanne Hynes introduced her first quintessential collection to Ireland’s Dunnes Stores.
A love of craft driven design techniques has developed into a highly recognizable “Joanne Hynes look”, incorporated into clothing and accessories, which has been built over 15 years since graduating from Central Saint Martin’s MA 2001. Inherent in the Joanne Hynes signature is the clashing of elements, the interplay of fabrics, colours and signature hand crafted applications on cloth.
With great anticipation, Joanne Hynes launched her second season for S/S 2017 called “A Rousseau Rendezvous” with a fashion show held in the grocery department of Dunnes Stores flagship in Stephens Green, taking influence from the post-impressionist Henri Rousseau and his Jungle Painting.
“The Great Escape” collection for high summer continues to introduce all of the brands quintessential elements such as the Tiger Lady motif, and artisan embellishments including hand drawn flowers, illustrated by Joanne in house. The in store experience continues to capture the narrative of the every collection. Spring Summer 17 (which launched in March) had inflatable Crocodiles, Snakes and Monkeys to mirror the Henri Rousseau post-modernist theme. Joanne Hynes is celebrated for this level of fearless creative expression in all aspects of the brand’s experience.
The Joanne Hynes label has been shown internationally and sold within the world’s most renowned luxury retailers. Previous collaborations include Pretty Polly hosiery (2012) and Joanne Hynes for Topshop (2006). Joanne returned to Ireland permanently in 2012 and lives in County Wicklow with her partner, three young daughters and baby son.
