About Joanne

Joanne Hynes is a fashion designer, design consultant, fashion stylist, business woman and a mother who approaches all creative and business projects with an experimental and instinctually creative vision.

A love and appreciation for craft driven techniques has developed into signature JH clothing and accessories, built over the past 13 years since graduating from Central Saint Martins MA in June of 2001. Inherent in the JH signature is the identifiable approach of clashing elements, interplay of fabric, colour and embellishment. JH accessories, including the iconic crystal collars, are available Internationally including Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge, Leeds and Dublin and from luxury stores across China, Dubai, Italy, Korea, Kuwait and Japan. Her Spring Summer 2012 catwalk collection at London Fashion Week piqued the attention of Pretty Polly, leading to the worldwide launch of JOANNE HYNES X PRETTY POLLY hosiery. The range was a sell out success worldwide including Barneys, Nordstrom, Topshop and Selfidges. In 2006, the sell out JOANNE HYNES FOR TOPSHOP range was launched in the UK and Ireland. 

Joanne works with personal and commercial clients as a Personal Stylist and Image Consultant and is a regular design guru and design mentor for TV shows (Norahs Traveller Academy in January 2015, The Saturday Night Show in October 2014, The Late Late Show in 2012) and is a design consultant with the Crafts Council of Ireland. The Joanne Hynes Studio collaborates alongside private client projects, commerical and celebrity styling, alongside various collaborative and commissioned projects within all areas such as radio, Television, design consultancy, magazine editoral.

Joanne was awarded the Irish Tatler Women In Business Award for Fashion in 2009, Brown Thomas Designer of the Season in 2008 and listed as The Irish Tatler Top 1000 Business Women in 2014. Joanne returned to Ireland in 2012 and lives in County Wicklow, with her partner and three young daughters.
